Clawstrophobia
A downloadable game for Windows
“Clawstrophobia” is the story of Marceline the hermit crab and her descent into carnage. When an owl plucks her from her shoreline home, Marceline is forced to survive in a forest where even the herbivores seek to shatter her shell and turn her into crabcakes. Can you outwit the vulpine lord of the forest and carve Marceline a path to her beloved ocean, or will she be dragged down in a maelstrom of chaos and blood? It all depends on you.
Clawstrophobia features the following:
An Impressive Bestiary!
Dive into the melee with a stunning phantasmagoria of woodland adversaries! Marceline has many foes– acorn-chucking squirrels, ravenous wasps and the occasional mice (who really aren’t cut out for this but are trying their best to kill her anyways). Survive long enough and you may encounter an even more fearsome enemy…
A Bevy of Build Variations!
Marceline has a natural aptitude for violence and inflicts it in more ways than the stars in the sky. Swell your shell to titanic sizes! Lob it to crush wasps out of the sky! Parry projectiles and pulverize patella with Marceline’s vicious claw swipe! With our patented* “Card Upgrade System,” Marceline’s bloodlust can be fully customized in speed, weight, robustness and even density! Never before has the beatdown seen such personalization!
Juicy “Implied” Storytelling
Engage the ions of your imagination to project yourself into Marceline’s lovingly hand-drawn world! Let the soft smacks and whaps of her blows transport you into her aggressive crustacean mindset! By carefully studying her enemies’ movement for patterns that don’t exist, you can glean insight into their hidden pasts. Why is Squifflenutter the squirrel baker taking up arms against Marceline? For what purpose did that owl drop her into the forest hell? As the seasons change, what continues to drive Marceline and the forest denizens towards conflict? Surely they’ve got to be running out of acorns by this point…
Morals That Would Make Aesop Proud
The circumstances of Marceline’s battle bring up heavy questions. In the thick of a disagreement, could the shells that we believe to be armor really be filtering out the humanity of those we engage with? Maybe instead of withdrawing into our shells, we should make an effort to understand one another. Marceline is trapped in a cycle of violence where she lashes out to preserve her narrow worldview. Maybe if she and the forest folk sought comprehension instead of destruction, their world would be a more tranquil place…
Stake your coliseum in the leaves and moss. Form each brick from the bones of your enemies, and you may fashion a staircase from Hell to the sea. Go, Marceline! Survive!
